Itinerary at a Glance

Day 1: Friday - MEXICO CITY

Arrive at the Mexico airport and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at the Casablanca 4 * hotel

Day 2: Saturday MEXICO CITY - TEOTIHUACAN - MEXICO CITY (100 km)

American breakfast. Departure to know the CITY OF MEXICO in which the Plaza de la Constitución or Zócalo stands out, surrounded by buildings of great architectural, artistic and historical value; like the National Palace, with the murals of Diego Rivera; the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Templo Mayor Azteca (exterior). You will have a visit to the main avenues with their monuments. We continue with a visit to the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, located in Tlatelolco. 

This was for the Aztecs the most important market of their empire since they could get a great variety of products. We continue our excursion to the archaeological zone of TEOTIHUACÁN, the mysterious city of the gods, where we will visit the gigantic Pyramid of the Sun (built in the 1st century), the Pyramid of the Moon (built in the 2nd century), the Avenida de Los Dead, Lunch. Back in the city, we visit the modern BASILICA DE GUADALUPE. The rest of the afternoon is free.


* The visit to the murals found in the National Palace is not guaranteed due to the fact that it is sometimes closed due to political or other events. This can be carried out according to availability.

Day 3: Sunday MEXICO CITY - TULA - QUERÉTARO - SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE (305 km)

American breakfast. Exit to TULA, the Toltec city that flourished between the years 900 and 1200, where we can appreciate its pyramids and the Atlanteans. Exit to QUERETARO, the "Pearl of the Bajío". A very important city during the struggle for Independence, today considered a World Heritage Site. Visit the city to appreciate its many Baroque style buildings, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, located in the historic centre. 

Lunch. Continuation to SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE. Visit of the city, where its beautiful viceregal mansions and the Neo-Gothic Cathedral stand out. Free time to enjoy the nightlife and dine in the Historic Center. Transfer to the hotel.Accommodation at the Imperio de Angeles 4 * hotel.

Day 4: Monday SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE - ATOTONILCO - DOLORES HIDALGO - GUANAJUATO (105 km)

American breakfast. Departure to GUANAJUATO, passing through the town of ATOTONILCO to visit its Chapel built in the 16th century and in whose ceilings and walls the meeting and fusion of European and pre-Hispanic culture is reflected. This place is of particular importance since at the beginning of the War of Independence the insurgent troops met here in order to form the flag that they carried as a standard and that carried the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
Continuation to DOLORES HIDALGO, the birthplace of Mexican Independence and where the famous Mexican singer-songwriter José Alfredo Jiménez is located.


In the late afternoon, we will arrive in GUANAJUATO, Visit the city that is a World Heritage Site, to see the Pípila Monument, the Juárez Theater, the Union Garden, the Baratillo Square, the University, the Hidalgo Market, the Alley of the Kiss and the Alhóndiga de Granaditas. Free time in the downtown area to see the city lit up at night and dine. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at the Holiday Inn Express 4 * hotel.

 

Day 5: Tuesday GUANAJUATO - TEPOTZOTLAN - MEXICO CITY (365 km)

American breakfast. Visit the city to see the Pípila Monument, the Juárez Theater, the Union Garden, the Baratillo Square, the University, the Hidalgo Market, the Callejón del Beso and the Alhóndiga de Granaditas. At the end of the visit, departure toTEPOTZOTLANfor a brief tour of this beautiful town with its Baroque-style Church (now the Viceregal Museum). In the afternoon, we continue to Mexico City. Approximate arrival around 6:00 pmAccommodation at the Casablanca 4 *hotel.

Day 6: Wednesday MEXICO CITY - TUXTLA GUTIERREZ - SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS (68 km)

American breakfast. Transfer to the Mexico City airport for the flight to Tuxtla Gutierrez. (Flight to Tuxtla Gutiérrez NOT INCLUDED in the reservation, it must be on the flight arriving at approximately 1:00 p.m. Otherwise, a supplement will apply for transfer from Tuxtla Airport to Sumidero Canyon + SCC.) 

Arrival and transfer to CHIAPA DE CORZO to the dock where we will take the boat that makes the tour of the Grijalva river and we will admire the imposing Sumidero Canyon, a true whim of mother nature. . On the way back, we will visit the particular source of the town of Chiapa de Corzo, of Moorish style, which resembles the crown of the Catholic Kings. Lunch and continuation in the afternoon to SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS. Accommodation at the Villa Mercedes San Cristobal 4* hotel.

Day 7: Thursday SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS - INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES - SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS (20 Km)

American breakfast. Morning dedicated to the visit of the San Cristóbal de las Casas indigenous market, the Santo Domingo temple and the Ambar Museum. Then we will visit the typical and colourful Tzotzil communities of SAN JUAN CHAMULA (place of bats) and ZINACANTAN (thick water). Free afternoon. 

Day 8: Friday SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS - BLUE WATER - PALENQUE (191 Km)

American breakfast. Departure through a winding landscape and thick vegetation, to reach the Yaxhá River (blue water), in order to enjoy the surroundings of the AGUA AZUL waterfalls, its impressive blue color and the intense green of the vegetation. Departure to Palenque.Accommodation at the Villa Mercedes Palenque 4 * hotel.

Day 9: Saturday PALENQUE - CAMPECHE (362 Km)

American breakfast. Visit the archaeological site of PALENQUE. The grandeur of its constructions and the invaluable mix of white stone with the emerald green of the jungle will never be forgotten: Temple of the Inscriptions (Pakal's Tomb), the Palace, Temples of the Sun and of the Foliated Cross, Queen's Bath in the Otulum stream. At the end of the visit.

 Departure to CAMPECHE, stopping for the lunch.Arrival in the fortified city that is a Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Visit
and accommodation in the hotel Plaza Campeche 4 *.

Day 10: Sunday CAMPECHE - UXMAL - MÉRIDA (169 Km)

American breakfast.Departure to UXMAL, one of the most beautiful archaeological sites on the Puuc Route. Cultural visit where we will observe the greatness of the Pyramid of the Magician, the magnificent friezes of the Quadrangle of the Nuns, the shells of the Turtle Building and the panoramic views from the Governor's Temple. All this speaks of the importance of this Mayan architectural complex.LunchandContinuation to MÉRIDA. 

Panoramic visit to see the Residential Zone, the Monument to the Fatherland, Paseo Montejo, the Twin Houses, Calle 60, the Zócalo and the Cathedral. Accommodation at the Nh Collection Merida 4 * hotel.

Day 11: Monday MÉRIDA - CHICHEN ITZÁ - CANCUN AND / OR RIVIERA MAYA (309 Km)

American breakfast. Departure towards CHICHEN ITZÁ, recently declared a Wonder of the ancient world and place of the Mayan culture in all its splendor. Visit of: the Observatory, the Castle Pyramid, the Ball Court, the Sacred Cenote and other temples of interest that will transport us to an enigmatic world of the gods. Free time.Lunch. We will continue with a visit to CENOTE IKKIL where you can take a nice bath. Continuation to Cancun or Riviera Maya and dropped off at the
hotel of your choice.
