Diving in The red sea

Safaga Port Red Sea Egypt

Safaga is well known for its clean air, black dunes, and mineral springs (Wellness & Spa). Safaga, a historic maritime port renowned for its unpolluted environment, black dunes, and mineral springs, is located 53 kilometers south of Hurghada.

Visitors to the town, which has a stellar reputation as a health and spa resort, enjoy a huge selection of really high-quality amenities. Safaga is a popular watersports destination for windsurfers, kitesurfers, and scuba divers. It's a laid-back and relaxed place better suited for people who enjoy diving and other sports during the day and prefer beach parties to crowded nightclubs at night.

With the desert to the west harboring as many riches on dry land as the Red Sea to the east possesses beneath its surface, it also offers a fantastic base for touring.  Safaga's vicinity to the historic entrance through the Red Sea Hills to the Nile, which was utilized as long back as the Roman Empire, a sizable Egyptian town has grown up around its port.

Visitors may discover local stores and marketplaces offering souvenirs as well as more traditional things like spices, regional cuisine, and crafts since the area has maintained a lot of its local color and feel.

There are several resorts in and near Safaga that provide popular Red Sea sports including windsurfing, kitesurfing, snorkeling, swimming, tanning, and, of course, scuba diving. Safaga is the ideal location for a laid-back vacation away from the tourist trail because of the clear waters and lovely sandy beaches that meet at the shoreline. Safaga also has all the amenities and activities that one would anticipate from a much bigger and busier resort.

Tranquil Diving Locations

Divers will enjoy various fascinating dive sites, tranquil diving locations, and pristine coral at Safaga. There are dive sites in Safaga for every level of diver, from shore dives on house reefs for beginners to some deeper drift dives offshore for more experienced divers. This is a key benefit for groups traveling to Safaga.

Here, dive schools are in operation, allowing visitors to combine a relaxing beach vacation with the chance to learn about and gain diving experience in some of the top dive sites in the world.

The pinnacles, slopes, grottos, and overhangs that make up coral reefs are all densely inhabited with an astonishing variety of marine life.

Excursions

Day trips from the sea can transport daring individuals out into the desert, where they can ride their quad bikes or travel by four-wheel drive, taking in breath-taking views.  Journey Around and Near the Port

A journey south to Luxor, with its wonderful ancient temples and other historic monuments, is also an option, as are unforeseen historical gems from the Roman Empire (such as the Mons Claudianus, an old Roman granite stronghold complex situated about 40km from Safaga).

All hotels in Safaga include water sports and diving shops where you can rent snorkeling gear and arrange tours to the best snorkeling spots on your own or with a guide. They also provide excellent child care, with experienced guides instructing young ones on how to use a snorkel, mask, and fins, giving them the skills necessary for an unforgettable experience.

Island of Tobia

An excursion to Tobia Island, a little sandbank island in the midst of Safaga Bay, is very common from Safaga's hotels and resorts.

A day at sea on one of the several-day trip dive boats is perfect for the island. The island is a wonderful location for snorkeling and observing the outstanding coral heads in shallow water, which makes snorkeling simple, enjoyable, and great for kids. Hotels, diving, and aqua centers in Safaga offer half-day or full-day excursions to the island. The use of snorkeling gear and lunch on the boat is often included in a full-day vacation.

Abu Soma Ras

Off Soma Bay, near Safaga, is where you may find Ras Abu Soma. This location contains a sizable lagoon and is readily reached from the beach, where a 300-meter jetty was recently constructed. The region is home to giant moray eels, cuttlefish, clownfish, and octopuses. The location has a lengthy, sandy slope before the wall plunges into the depths, providing varying degrees of excitement. The sandy slope gets thinner as you move farther north and finally meets the main reef wall. A little overhang or cave that extends into the coral reef for a short distance is located just before this.

You may complete your dive across the sand plateau, where blue spotted rays and even the occasional eagle ray might visit you, by turning back toward the south. This is a really enjoyable dive that is appropriate for all levels of divers thanks to the constant presence of clownfish in their anemones and the variety of colourful marine life this site has to offer.

Safaga is the perfect vacation for busy individuals who want to have some fun and adventure while gradually decompressing from the strains of daily life thanks to activities like this diving, excursions to the desert, and a laid-back ambiance away from the congestion and noise of the larger resorts.
