Early in the morning you will continue to Punta Leona or Manuel Antonio National Park.

Boat trip through the mangrove forest of Tortuguero National Park, now one of the last protected areas of tropical rainforest in Central America. Here we can spot three species of monkeys (spider, howler and white-faced), swinging from branch to branch. Caimans, iguanas, river turtles, lizards and poison dart frogs also populate the mangroves along with over 320 species of birds.

Depart in the morning for the walk inside the Arenal Volcano National Park, where it will take you through vegetation and changing terrain of the ancient lava rivers called las coladas.
Later, hike to Río Fortuna Waterfall, located in a biological reserve of pre-montane transitional humid tropical forest that is part of the Arenal Volcano National Park. The path has 530 steps, with comfortable rest areas. Finally you can take a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters of the Fortuna River followed by lunch.

Free days to enjoy the beaches. Guanacaste is famous for its spectacular beaches on the Pacific coast that are more than 125 miles long. Playa Conchal in the nature reserve, Playa Tamarindo one of the best known, Playa Danta in Las Catalinas, Playa Flamingo to watch the sunset are some of the many options that the peninsula offers.

After breakfast, we will start our trip driving to the Caribbean coast (6 hours aprox), including a drive through the banana plantations. Arrive to the village of Tortuguero stopping to observe plants or wildlife. Tortuguero is one of the area´s biggest draws of proliferation of turtles (nesting between July and October).

Transfer to the Northern Plains where the impressive and conical Arenal Volcano awaits you, one of the natural wonders of the country for its majesty. Along the way and until you reach the small town of La Fortuna located at the foot of the imposing Arenal Volcano, you will be able to appreciate agricultural plantations, ornamental plants and cattle farms.

Mid-morning departure through the canals to take ground transportation, after disembark at the dock where a stop will be made again in the Guápiles area. After lunch, you will continue in a private transfer or in a 4x4 rental car to the South Caribbean, Puerto Viejo de Limón.
The Caribbean area is identified by its cultural richness full of Afro-descendant and indigenous nuances and that finally form a unique mix in the country.

Arrival to the city of San Jose. Transfer from the airport to your hotel. Rest of the day off to explore the city.

Depart from La Fortuna early in direction to Volcán Tenorio National Park. You will do a moderately challenging 6km hike for Rio Celeste, remarkable for its striking turquoise blue colour. While walking along the trail we will keep an eye out for monkeys, sloths, tropical birds and other wildlife, while enjoying views of hot springs and a lagoon. The winding path follows the banks of the river, taking us upstream while the vivid blue colour of the water deepens until we arrive at a photogenic waterfall.
After that, continue to the peninsula of Guanacaste.

Manuel Antonio National Park (closed on Mondays) contains three beautiful beaches, casual forest trails, and a dense rainforest teaming with animal life. In 2011, it was named by Forbes as one of the world’s most beautiful parks. Abundant with wildlife, Capuchin, Howler, and Squirrel Monkeys are some of the most social creatures in the park.
